About this Tour
Day 1: Welcome to Italy
Meeting with the Guide at the Airport. Private transfer to Montichiello. Welcome dinner and overnight in Montichiello.

Day 2: Hiking begins: The Wonderful Val d'Orcia
We set off towards Pienza, crossing rural roads, cypress and oak forests. After passing the most iconic village in the valley, we enter the most authentic Val d'Orcia, passing by the Vitaleta Chapel, a destination for photographers from all over the world; we reach another very famous site: the avenue of The Gladiator, just before entering San Quirico d'Orcia where we have lunch. With a photographic stop at the most famous cypress trees in the world, we continue towards Montalcino. Accommodation in a B&B and free time in the village. Dinner on your own. HB.

Day 3: Vineyards, Abbey of Sant'Antimo and Bagno Vignoni
We continue our journey downhill towards the beautiful Abbey of Sant'Antimo, immersed in the vineyards and then towards Castelnuovo dell'Abate, from which we begin to climb along narrow streets, paths and fords until we reach the ridge that connects San Quirico to Bagno Vignoni. We have a packed lunch and from the top of this place you can admire the entire valley with the sun that sets it ablaze. We continue towards the characteristic hamlet of Vignoni Alto. Once we arrive in town we place our backpacks in the B&B and visit the Roman baths and medieval mills. Free time to wonder in the town. Dinner on your own. HB

Day 4: Rocca di Tentennano and the slopes of Mount Amiata
Today we go up to the majestic Rocca di Tentennano, the only fortress that has never been conquered in the entire valley. We proceed towards the village of Castiglione d'Orcia, a terrace overlooking the valley that was once a sea, and towards the northern slope of an ancient volcano. We move between the altitudinal bands of vegetation and see the protagonists change: the trees. We arrive at the village of Pescina where we settle into the hotel. We have dinner (not included) in the hotel's renowned restaurant. HB.

Day 5: Mount Amiata and Abbadia San Salvatore
This morning we have a beautiful climb that takes us to the top of Amiata and it's 1738 meters above sea level. The environment changes continuously and today we immerse ourselves in the fantastic world of beech trees and conifers. From the summit you can enjoy a unique view of the nearby Lazio and Umbria and from here we can understand the geology of this area of Italy. After lunch in one of the typical restaurants we begin the descent to Abbadia San Salvatore, passing through the characteristic volcanic rocks expelled almost 200,000 years ago. Once we arrive in Abbadia we settle into a B&B. Free time in the town. Dinner on your own. HB.

Day 6: The Baths of San Filippo and the mysterious Radicofani
After an initial part on a paved road, we return to dirt roads and paths and head for the village of Bagni San Filippo, where we can relax in the completely natural pools immersed in the woods. Here we admire the geology that becomes a work of art and we discover its secrets. After lunch in a local tavern we continue to the last village of this trek, rich in beauty and with its fascinating castle that rests on the remains of an ancient volcano, different from Amiata. Accommodation in a B&B and free time in the village. Dinner on your own. HB.

Day 7: Typical products and return
After breakfast, if desired, there is the possibility to buy local products. Transfer and return.
